WOW! Internet
Cable and fiber · 100–5,000 Mbps
WOW! is a regional operator serving parts of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee. Most of the footprint is its cable network, where upload speeds are much lower than download speeds, while newer fiber builds in selected markets offer matching upload and download. Plans carry no contract, equipment is included in the price, and the fiber rates are standing monthly prices rather than twelve-month introductory offers.

WOW! Internet: common questions
Is WOW! fiber or cable?
Both, depending on the address. WOW! grew as a cable operator and most of its footprint is still served that way, with download speeds far higher than upload speeds. Fiber has been built in selected markets and is what the Fiber 100 through Fiber 5 Gig plans run on.
Where does WOW! operate?
Parts of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee. It is a city-by-city footprint rather than statewide coverage, and which plans appear depends on whether your street is on the cable or the fiber network.
Does the price go up after a year?
WOW! publishes its fiber rates as standing monthly prices rather than twelve-month introductory offers, and its own broadband labels list them as non-introductory. Rates still assume autopay and paperless billing, and WOW! sells a Price Lock for Life add-on at $5 a month for customers who want the figure held.
Is there a data cap?
The fiber plans are sold with unlimited data. WOW! says the answer depends on your region, and its own broadband labels show a monthly allowance on some plans in some markets, so check the label for the exact plan at your address.
What does installation cost?
Self-installation carries a $10 activation charge and a professional visit is listed at $99 or $100 depending on the market. WOW! offers a self-install kit for straightforward setups, which is the cheaper route if the outlet is already live.
Do I have to rent a modem?
No. A Wi-Fi modem is included in the plan price, and you can supply a compatible one of your own instead. Check compatibility before buying, since the fiber and cable networks need different equipment.

Strengths and trade-offs
What they do well
- Fiber prices are standing rates, not twelve-month introductory offers
- No contract — you can cancel without an early-termination fee
- Wi-Fi modem included in the monthly price, with the option to use your own
- Fiber plans upload at close to the download speed, which cable plans do not
- An optional Price Lock for Life add-on holds the rate for $5 a month
Worth knowing
- Fiber has been built in only part of the footprint — most addresses are served by the cable network, where uploads are a fraction of the download speed
- Prices differ from market to market for the same plan
- Advertised prices assume autopay and paperless billing
- A mailed paper statement costs $4 a month
- Some plans in some markets carry a monthly data allowance rather than unlimited data

About this data: Coverage and speed figures come from the FCC National Broadband Map, as of December 2025, where providers self-report. Advertised speeds are maximums, not guarantees, and availability differs address by address. The FCC publishes no pricing at all, so every price here was taken from a rate the provider advertised publicly, last checked September 2026. Several providers quote only after an address check, and rates move constantly — treat these as a guide and confirm the figure for your own address before you order. WOW!
