Sparklight: common questions
Does Sparklight require a contract?
No. Sparklight sells its residential internet without a term agreement, so there is no early-termination fee. The promotional rate still has a defined life and the bill rises when it ends.
Why does Sparklight quote a price range instead of a price?
Sparklight sets rates by market and by the speed you start on, so the same tier can cost different amounts in different towns. The promotional rate starts at $39.95 per month for the first twelve months; months 13 to 24 run $45 to $55, and the standard rate afterwards is $55 to $75, both depending on entry speed and location.
What are the upload speeds?
Sparklight publishes up to 30 Mbps upload on the 300 Mbps tier, up to 40 Mbps on 600 Mbps, and up to 50 Mbps on the 1 Gbps tier. These are cable speeds, so uploads are well below downloads on every plan.
How much does the modem cost?
Sparklight leases a modem with an eero Pro 6E at between $0 and $14.99 per month, depending on which plan you take. Equipment, taxes and surcharges are excluded from most advertised prices.
Is there a data cap?
Sparklight includes an unlimited data plan with its advertised internet packages. As with pricing, terms are set per market, so confirm what is included in the offer shown for your address.
Who qualifies for the promotional rate?
The introductory pricing is for new customers, defined by Sparklight as households that have not had Sparklight internet in the previous ninety days. Existing customers changing plans will generally be quoted the standard rate.
