Fidium Fiber: common questions

Which states have Fidium Fiber?

Fidium lists service in California, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Texas and Vermont. Coverage inside those states follows where Consolidated has built fiber, so neighbouring streets can get different answers. An address check is the only reliable way to know.

How long does the advertised price last?

Twelve months. Fidium describes its rates as a limited-time offer for the first year of home internet service, after which the standard rate applies. Ask what that standard rate is before you sign up, because it is not shown next to the promotional figure.

Is there a contract or a data cap?

Neither. Fidium states plainly that its plans carry no contracts and no data caps, so there is no early-termination fee and no monthly allowance to exceed.

What equipment comes with the service?

A Wi-Fi gateway is included with every plan and the optical network terminal is fitted at no extra cost. Mesh extenders are bundled with the 5 Gig and 8 Gig plans; on the lower tiers they are an optional monthly add-on. You can also use your own router on the 1 Gig and faster plans.

Do I pay for installation?

No. Fidium includes professional installation with its plans, so a technician runs the fiber and sets up the gateway without a separate charge.

What do I need to do to get the advertised rate?

Fidium ties its advertised pricing to autopay from a bank account together with paperless billing. Paying by card or asking for a mailed statement can cost you the discount, so check the terms before switching payment methods.

Strengths and trade-offs

What they do well

  • Fiber only — no cable or copper tiers in the lineup
  • No annual contract and no data cap
  • Professional installation included in the price
  • Wi-Fi gateway included, and mesh extenders come free with the 5 Gig and 8 Gig plans
  • Entry tier starts at $30 a month for the first year

Worth knowing

  • Available in only eight states, and only in part of each
  • Every advertised rate is a first-year price that rises in month thirteen
  • Advertised pricing requires autopay from a bank account plus paperless billing
  • Mesh extenders cost extra on the plans below 5 Gig
  • Upload speeds are not published alongside the download tiers

About this data: Coverage and speed figures come from the FCC National Broadband Map, as of December 2025, where providers self-report. Advertised speeds are maximums, not guarantees, and availability differs address by address. The FCC publishes no pricing at all, so every price here was taken from a rate the provider advertised publicly, last checked September 2026. Several providers quote only after an address check, and rates move constantly — treat these as a guide and confirm the figure for your own address before you order.
