Ziply Fiber: common questions

Where can I get Ziply Fiber?

Ziply Fiber operates in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Within those states the fiber network covers some addresses and not others, so availability has to be checked street by street. The multi-gig tiers are narrower still than the rest of the fiber footprint.

Does Ziply Fiber require a contract?

No. Ziply Fiber sells its plans without an annual contract, so there is no early-termination fee if you leave. Equipment still has to be returned when service ends.

Are upload speeds really the same as download speeds?

Yes on fiber. Ziply lists its plans as 100/100, 300/300, 1 Gig/1 Gig and so on up the range, meaning the upload figure matches the download figure. DSL service is not symmetrical.

Is there a router fee?

No, on plans up to 5 Gig. Ziply includes Wi-Fi equipment in the monthly price and currently supplies a Wi-Fi 7 router at no extra charge. The 50 Gig tier is the exception — it requires a router you buy yourself.

Is there a data cap?

No. Ziply Fiber does not apply a monthly data allowance to its fiber plans, so there is nothing to exceed and no overage charge.

Will the price go up?

The advertised rates depend on staying enrolled in autopay and paperless billing, and dropping either raises the bill. Ziply also runs limited-time offers with end dates, so the rate you sign up at is the rate published on that date rather than a guaranteed permanent price.

Strengths and trade-offs

What they do well

  • Upload speed matches download speed on every fiber plan
  • No data cap and no annual contract
  • Wi-Fi 7 router included at no extra cost on plans up to 5 Gig
  • Multi-gig tiers reach further than most providers offer — 10 Gig and 50 Gig

Worth knowing

  • Only four states — Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana
  • Advertised prices assume autopay and paperless billing
  • The 10 Gig and 50 Gig tiers carry installation fees of $300 and $600
  • The 50 Gig tier requires buying your own router
  • DSL is still the only option at some addresses, at much lower speeds

About this data: Coverage and speed figures come from the FCC National Broadband Map, as of December 2025, where providers self-report. Advertised speeds are maximums, not guarantees, and availability differs address by address. The FCC publishes no pricing at all, so every price here was taken from a rate the provider advertised publicly, last checked September 2026. Several providers quote only after an address check, and rates move constantly — treat these as a guide and confirm the figure for your own address before you order.
