Does CenturyLink require a contract?
No. The Simply Unlimited plans are sold month to month with no annual term, so you can cancel without an early-termination fee.
What speed will I actually be offered?
On DSL that depends entirely on the copper line serving your address — CenturyLink references tiers up to 30, 40 to 80, 100 and 140 Mbps in different areas. You will not know which applies until you check availability at your exact address.
How much does the modem cost?
CenturyLink charges up to $17 per month to lease a modem, or $200 plus tax to buy one outright. That is on top of the monthly plan price, so the lease adds meaningfully to the bill over a year.
Is there a data cap?
No. CenturyLink includes unlimited data on its Simply Unlimited plans, with no monthly allowance and no overage charges.
Does the price go up after a promotional period?
CenturyLink publishes the Simply Unlimited rates as standing monthly prices rather than introductory offers that step up later. Note that the rate is quoted before the CenturyLink fee of up to $1.50 per month per line.
